Biography:
Michael Sheffield is an aggressive criminal defense attorney whose experience has included nine years as a prosecutor and more than 20 years as defense counsel. He has prosecuted more than 3,000 cases and handled more than 300 jury trials.
He earned his BA, cum laude, from Wake Forest University in 1971 and his JD in 1974 from Emory University Law School .
After serving as Assistant District Attorney for DeKalb County , he entered private practice.
Attorney Sheffield is Past President of the Gwinnett County Bar Association; Past President of the DeKalb Bar Association; a member of the State Bar of Georgia's Board of Governors and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys; and a fellow of the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia.
He also has a strong commitment to his community. He is Past President of the Decatur Lions Club and is a member of the Norcross Rotary Club.
